RoboCops in California and China
They can see, hear, feel and smell. They are capable of learning. They can sense your “feelings”. They have facial recognition. They are armed with mace and can subdue and forcibly hold you. They are the robocops and they are coming to a city near you.
China has deployed ten intelligent robots, that can detect suspicious people and raise an alarm, as customs officers at three ports in southern Guangdong Province, after it used robots for security at an airport. The robots, named Xiao Hai, have state-of-the-art perception technology and are able to listen, speak, learn, see and walk.
In the USA, Knightscope robots are being used at a number of tech companies and a mall in Silicon Valley at the moment. The robot at the Stanford Shopping Center in California, recently ran over a 16 month old child.
The United States already has an issue with police militarization. Are we really going to let them control us with RoboCops next?

Knightscope, the company that produced the security robot that allegedly knocked down a child and ran over his foot at the Stanford Shopping Center two weeks ago, has released a report of the events that transpired prior to the injury.
The robot, which began patrolling the shopping center last year, was designed to predict crime by alerting authorities to abnormal events and known criminals.
