Eleven Year Old Muslim Explains Why She is Escaping Her Forced Marriage

Yemeni girl from YouTube wants education, not marriage

A young Yemeni girl stares defiantly into the camera. Her question is a shocking one, coming from an 11-year-old:
“Would it make you happy to marry me off?” asks Nada Al-Ahdal.
“Death would be a better option for me,” she declares.
Nada also speaks on behalf of other Yemeni girls: “What about the innocence of childhood? What have the children done wrong so that you would marry them off like that?”
In 2008, 10-year-old Nujood Ali shocked the world when she went to a court in Sanaa and asked a judge for a divorce.
(Later reports of her death are unverified. )
Nada Al-Ahdal : The Yemeni girl who was sold off in marriage for $2,000 when she was 11

In the interview with Nada, an Egyptian cleric states that from the day a girl is born, a contractual marriage can take place. There is nothing wrong with that

In the video, the eloquent child states that her parents sold her off for $2,000. The clearly disturbed interviewer then asks her what her parents had told her about marriage. She says, “They said it is like a game, I will get a new dress, things like that. It is not like that.”

A very brave girl, Nada ran away to her uncle’s house a week before her marriage with the determination to get education more than anything else. She repeated over and over again, that she would rather die than get married.
